Tips for a pumpkin patch trip
- Check the day. Clinton Sease and Cottle open Friday to Sunday only; McLeod is closed Mondays.
- Leave the dog at home. All four farms here say no pets.
- Go early in the season for choice. The best pumpkins go first, and late-October weekends are the busiest.
- Wear closed shoes. Mazes and fields are uneven and can be muddy after rain.
- Bring cash and a card. Admission is often online, but small extras at the patch add up.
